LittleBigPlanet - Image 1 When Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves told PS3 Fanboy that Media Molecule‘s upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet would allow players to sell their creations on an “iTunes meets eBay” system, it drew mixed reactions from fans. Some welcomed the move and saw enterprising opportunities while others saw it as an inhibitor to the community’s growth.

The discussions got so loud that SCEE just had to clear up what’s been said by Reeves. According to the company, all LittleBigPlanet user content will be free at launch.

“SCEE and Media Molecule can guarantee that all consumer-generated content will be free at launch. We know how important this is to the LBP community and what we want most is for people to enjoy playing, creating and sharing their content,” said SCEE to Eurogamer.

Round one goes to those who favor free content in the game. The questions is for how long will content stay free? Let the great debate begin!
