Scrabble Help 0.1

If you’ve ever played Scrabble before, chances are you’ve been stumped by a few tiles that don’t seem to form any word. Thanks to gibbocool‘s Scrabble Help, you can now get some much-needed hints on what words those seemingly useless tiles could be used for.

Scrabble Help works like this. You input a set of letters into it – BUHDEAS, for example – and the program will search its dictionary for all possible words that can be made out of those letters. It also supports the use of wildcards. In Scrabble, the blank tile can be used to substitute for any letter. According to gibbocool, words that are found with the underscore have that letter displayed in lower case.

Scrabble Help will only display the first 175 or so words that it finds because the PSP’s screen isn’t big enough to display any more. Gibbocool says that he’s working on it, though, and hopefully it’ll be remedied in the next version. Since there’s no readme file included in the downloads below, here’s how to install Scrabble Help:

  • Copy the folder “scrabble-help” into your GAME directory if you are using a custom firmware.
  • If you are using FW 1.50, download the kxploited version.
