SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 possibly coming to Wii?

If you’re interested in playing classic Neo Geo games on the Nintendo Wii but you’re not too hot about downloading them via Nintendo’s Virtual Console service, you may just get your chance, eventually. A Nintendo Wii version may be in the works, thanks to a little tidbit from the ESRB.

A few months ago, we reported that SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 and other SNK Playmore games would be available for various consoles. Back then, SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 was scheduled for release only on Sony’s PS2 and PSP.

That may no longer be the case. The ESRB has recently granted a T rating to SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1, and the list of consoles included in the category incidentally includes the Wii, indicating that a version of SNK Playmore’s compilation may very well be in the works for Nintendo’s console.

Currently, classic SNK Playmore titles such as Magician Lord and World Heroes are only available on the Wii via the Nintendo Virtual Console service. Having other SNK Playmore titles on disc compilations would be sweet, indeed.
