Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood – gameplay details, screenshots
In case you haven’t heard yet, Sega‘s spiky blue mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, is getting his own RPG titled Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. While details for the game were revealed a few days ago in an issue of Nintendo Power, an interview with the game’s producer, Mark Darrah, reveals even more. Details on the game plus a load of new screenshots are waiting in the full article.
New details have emerged for the new RPG from BioWare starring Sega‘s time-honored mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. In this new interview with the game’s producer, Mark Darrah, we find out more about Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
Sonic fans will be able to recognize some of the places featured in the game, including Green Hill Zone, Central City, Mystic Ruins and the Blue Ridge Zone. In exploring these stages, players will be making use of the stylus to navigate.
The stylus will actually be central in controls. It will do everything from guiding Sonic around, to interacting with elements on the field, and even combat. Actions on the field and in combat will have you interacting with icons on screen.
And what’s a Sonic game without speed? Darrah hints that the stylus will also be used to allow players to have a “sense of speed that is key to [the] Sonic series. […] This means evoking a feeling of speed and attitude in the player’s interaction with Sonic.”
He doesn’t explain how, exactly, but we’re guessing that it would be somewhere along the muscle-straining moves we experienced in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Here’s hoping we don’t get as much cramps.
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is expected to be released this Fall for the Nintendo DS. For more info on the game, read our previous article on the game. While we wait for more news on the game, here are new screenshots:
