Sony giving out 100 5000-yen PlayStation Network cards in Japan
Want to win a 5000-yen gift card from Sony? Well, we’ve just found out that Sony is giving 100 of these special gift cards away, for use on the PlayStation Network.
There are just two catches though: it seems you have to be part of Japanese PlayStation Network, and you have to purchase something between now and January 7, 2008.
More on this giveaway after the jump!
Well, people outside Japan probably won’t see this one, but it would certainly be an interesting way of inviting people to try out using PlayStation Network Tickets (or cards, as we’d normally call them) to buy things on the PlayStation network. Sony is apparently hosting a giveaway, offering 100 lucky PlayStation Network users the chance to win a 5000-yen PSN gift card.
According to the announcement though, there’s only one way to be eligible for the giveaway, and that’s to actually spend some money on the PSN between now and January 7, 2008.
As we’ve said above, it’s a great way to drum up interest in the card system, especially now that the cards have also been made available to US PSN users as well. Hopefully, we’ll see a similar sort of campaign in the US and EU territories sometime in the near future.
