PlayStation Network logo - Image 1You’ve probably heard that PlayStation Network Cards have been confirmed for launch in the US sometime soon but were left drooling for more details on what they are and when exactly they’ll hit. PSN - Image 1We’ve reported earlier that PlayStation Network Cards have been confirmed for the United States. At that time, few details were dropped as to how they’d work and when they’ll be available. Now PSN Operations Director Eric Lampel fills us in on these areas.

Writing in the US PlayStation Blogs, Lampel seconded the confirmation that these Network Cards are alternatives to using credit cards for online purchases. He then revealed that the target implementation period is in Spring of 2008.

“The cards will be redeemable via the PlayStation Store for PC, and on the PlayStation 3 to supply the wallet with funds to spend on games, add-ons, and other paid content,” explains Lampel.

The PSN Operations Director then said that the cards will be available in retail stores and promised to keep us all updated about this exciting new product. Stay with us as we await more news.
