Sony wants you to know: more than 50 million PSP units sold worldwide
Since the first ever PSP was sold in December of 2004 in Japan, there have been more than 50 million PSP units sold worldwide, and 2,000 UMD games released in the market.
If numbers don’t impress you, then let’s just say that’s a lot of frakkin PSPs out there. Let’s hope Sony makes good on their promise of a lot more games this year.

Sony just sent out a press release to let everyone know: since the first ever PSP was sold in December of 2004 in Japan, there have been more than 50 million PSP units sold worldwide (that includes all three systems, mind you) since January of 2009.
On the software side of things, there’s currently more 2,000 UMD games released in the market, and more than 200 million sell-in units sold worldwide.
If numbers don’t impress you, then let’s just say that’s a lot of frakkin PSPs out there. Let’s hope devs pay attention and make more games for the handheld.
Thanks to Anthony Severino for the tip!
