Sony: Worldwide sales for Gran Turismo franchise exceeds 50 million - Image 1 Sony Computer Entertainment International (SCEI) released new information regarding Polyphony Digital‘s Gran Turismo series of games for the PlayStation consoles. As of April 30, 2008, the entire GT franchise has achieved over 50 million sales worldwide, according to a recent press release the company sent out.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in particular had 2.3 million sales under its belt on last count, which includes figures for both its Blu-Ray and PlayStation Network release. The game has already exceeded sales for Gran Turismo 4, launched back in 2004.

As for the rest of SCEI’s sales breakdown:

  • Gran Turismo (PS1) – 10.85 mi‭llion
  • Gran Turismo 2 (PS1) – 9.37 million
  • Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec (PS2) – 14.89 million
  • Gran Turismo Concept 2001 Tokyo (PS2) – 1.56 million
  • Gran Turismo 4 Prologue (PS2)  – 1.36 million
  • Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) – 10.06 million
  • Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) – 2.23 million
  • Total: 50.32 million
