Spider-Man 3 – interview with William Schmitt

With Spider-Man 3 hitting the silverscreen and stores in a few days, PlayStation Universe scored an interview with Activision producer William Schmitt. A lot of interesting points about the PS3 version of the much awaited videogame was given – read on.

Spider-Man 3 features 10 main storylines – one of which follows that of the movie plus lots of minor missions. Schmitt dropped the names of the villains for the storylines: Kingpin, Lizard, Scorpion, and Kraven. He added that “we are providing more content in this version of the game than any other Spider-Man title to date”.

Gameplay-wise, the red and black suit Spider-Man are different (as we already know). The normal suit has the normal agility, quick moves, and dodging while the black symbiote suit gives more aggressive and maybe ruthless attacks. Special moves can be unleashed by filling up the special attack meter. The suits have other differences; normal Spidey has the use of his Spider-Sense while the Black suit gives him more power, unique attacks, and a rage mode.

Spider-Man 3 features a number of Marvel baddies with an addition of three gangs, each with a new boss. Schmitt also revealed that the PS3 collector’s edition will include a playable New Goblin mode and video interviews with the characters.

As for Downloadable Content“>downloadable content, Schmitt refused to comment (but we can hope, right?). Well, release is just a few shut eyes away and we’re sure all the Spidey fans out there are counting the minutes. We are, too.
