The best part about this news? It’s not a rumor as it came straight from Blizzard president, Mike Morhaime, himself.
He said, “This summer we will be opening up external beta testing, and while we haven’t announced a release date yet, this phase will also signal the final stretch [of development on the game].” Did you catch that? “Final stretch”. Oooohhh…
In case you’re interested, signups are now open for beta testers – it started only yesterday so hurry while you still have time! The test will be for multiplayer only, and will probably have only a little slice of maps from the game, but still.
In addition, “Our priority now is completing the core game. Once that is complete, our focus will shift [to the two expansions].” Great, great, great!
If you wanna join in on the beta fun, just head to the Battle.net profile page (linked here), choose the opt-in for the beta, and them re-submit your current system specs via a small downloadable piece of software.
