Super Mario Bros Tricks
Super Mario Bros has always been one of my favorite games, and after almost 16 years of playing with Super Mario games, I thought I’ve already discovered all the tricks there is to know about the video game. NESVideos, a site dedicated to making movies of classic console games using an emulator as a tool, however showcased a plethora of Super Mario Bros tricks, most of which are new to me. I’m sure, most of you Nintendo fanboys and girls have already discovered these tricks and have been using them since time immemorial.
Some of the 16 tricks that was mentioned were the Walljump (where Mario’s foot catches the wall, allowing him to jump again and boosting from the wall); going through bricks (which you can use for different applications like catching a fireflower/mushroom/starman before it appears; jumping into a solid object below a floor and jumping into a wall just below a solid ceiling and walk through it); and “Stomping” enemies from below.
The tricks applies to NES Super Mario Bros, FDS Super Mario Bros/SNES Lost Levels, and NES Super Mario Bros 3. But before you go trying these tricks, NESVideos say that the tricks “are nearly impossibly difficult to play in real play” and is more useful to people making tool-assisted speedruns.
