Take-Two puts Manhunt 2 on launch limbo
Publisher Take-Two Interactive appears to be getting ready for the long haul, in light of Rockstar’s recent appeal over Manhunt 2‘s (Wii, PSP, PS2) ban by the BBFC.
The company has just sent out their latest financial reports for the fiscal year of 2007 which, aside from stating their current revenues, also indicates that Manhunt 2 has been removed from this year’s release roster.
Take-Two’s planned launch titles for the fiscal year of 2008, which includes Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3, Xbox 360), further indicates that Manhunt 2 is not expected to launch next year as well. Take note that this does not necessarily mean that the company is dropping the game completely.
For now, it may be safe to speculate that the company hasn’t dropped the game outright – rather, Take-Two’s simply keeping the game under the radar until the controversies that have been hounding it blow over. Now, in case you’re wondering what else will be accompanying GTA 4 for next year, here’s a list:
- Beaterator (PSP)
- Bully: Scholarship Edition (Xbox 360, Wii)
- College Hoops 2K8 (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2)
- Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3)
- Grand Theft Auto IV Episodic Content (Xbox 360)
- L.A. Noire (PS3)
- Midnight Club: Los Angeles (Xbox 360, PS3)
- Major League Baseball 2K8 (Multiple Platforms)
- NBA 2K9 (Multiple Platforms)
- NHL 2K9 (Multiple Platforms
- Sid MeierÂ’s Civilization Revolution (Xbox 360, PS2, DS, Wii)
- Top Spin 3 (Xbox 360, PS3)
