Apple, Microsoft, and Sony make Top 100 Innovators List

BusinessWeek has ranked what they consider the top 100 innovators. Apple, Microsoft, and Sony have made that list. Nintendo is noticeably absent, but looking deeper shows that the reasons for the inclusion of the companies isn’t exactly gaming. Apple received position #1 while Microsoft and Sony received #5 and #13 respectively. Here are the reasons.

• Having the ability to create demand due to an understanding of customer needs
• Reintroducing products at the right times and marketing them effectively
• Building a culture that encourages innovation while accepting the risks brought with it

Microsoft for

• Using innovation to remain the market leader
• Using new opportunities to expand beyond the core market

Sony for

• Emphasizing the innovation of product design
• Always being on the leading edge of new developments
• Having the ability to have new platforms in all sections of the market
