Taking down Harbinger Skyriss depends on luck?

World of Warcraft - The Alcatraz - Harbinger Skyriss has Lady Luck on HIS side. - Image 1Down at The Alcatraz wing of the Temple Keep lies a nasty boss known as Harbinger Skyriss. This monumental creature (well, yes all bosses are monumental but this one takes the cake) is no easy boss compared to those in Karazhan and Gruul’s Lair.

In fact, you may consider this boss one of the few who can turn your little perfect raid run into a humiliating wipe.

Or frustratingly annoying wipes, if you keep trying again. Skyriss, with his ability to duplicate himself into shadows (a la Illidan Stormrage) and continuously cast fear or control spells, can swat down your skillful party with his mind flay spam and be back in his cell in time for supper.

What’s more is that the raid either requires you to have one healer and a whole truckload of luck behind you, or one dedicated healer and a second healer to pick up the pace once against Skyriss.

In fact, Blizzard representative Eyonix said, “There is some luck involved as getting double mind-flayed (especially as the main healer) is almost certainly a wipe.” Luck, unlike challenge, is something that’s way out of your control. So after having to farm for flask contents and gulp them down on the final fight, all that’s standing between that Epic gear and another wipe is Lady Luck?
