The Chronicles of Spellborn: Thee Nailros Answers Your Questions About Mages, Oracles, et. al.

Ormoburu General

In a recent Dev Chat Log, Thee Nailros had some responses for people wondering about Mages, Oracles, and Pets.

Mages, he assures, are all able to heal a group of characters, and can in fact select a healing skill that can heal allies from the get-go – as opposed to other classes, who have to develop their healing skills.

The Oracle Disciple is an interesting character, as it turns out. Not only will he be able to play solo, but can inflict damage like the other classes. With this one, players can save three skilldecks, so they can create a healing/buffing one for group play, and other ones for inflicting damage. (Caveat: don’t try switching during combat.) Because healing is a skill available to any class, Nailros recommends that in PvP combat, one focus on the most skilled opponent, not necessarily the Oracle Disciple. (In any event, the OC can be a fearsome warrior as well as a healer, though “rezzing” skills are beyond him at this point. Nonetheless,  don’t turn your back on him.)

Regarding Pets, these have their own skill sets, which they use themselves. The Ancestral Mage can choose which Pet to use in a given situation. If you have a preference for a certain Pet, the suggestion is to create a skilldeck that works well with a particular Pet’s innate skills. By the way, players are not able to control their Spirits Skills directly, which would require Ancestral Mage to have an extra set of hands.

The Chronicles of Spellborn is a rather unique MMO that combines elements of fantasy and science fiction, and is published by Spellborn, Ltd.
