The Game Factory announces Legend of the Dragon for the Wii
Here’s a pretty classic plot: sibling/friend A inherits old master’s job so sibling/friend B – who expected to be the chosen one – leaves in a huff. It happened to Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, it almost happened to Sabin and Vargas (except Vargas left in a huff BEFORE the inheritor was chosen so he didn’t get the memo that he WAS the chosen one. Haha.), and it happened to Ang Leung and Ling, two of the main characters in The Game Factory‘s Legend of the Dragon.
Legend of the Dragon is an upcoming 3D fighting game for the Wii that has just been announced by The Game Factory today. This title will be the publisherÂ’s first release for Nintendo’s next-generation console, which enjoyed a record-breaking UK launch last weekend when it sold 105,000 consoles. The game is based on the hugely popular childrenÂ’s TV show on the BBC.
In Legend of the Dragon, players can choose to play as one of 19 characters, all of whom wear magical wristbands that enable them to transform into mystical warriors. Once transformed, each character takes on the exact likenesses and superhuman powers of the zodiac creature they represent. An innovative real time spell casting system enhances the classic experience of a fighting arcade style of gameplay in addition to blending RPG elements through various available power-ups.
The videogame captures not only the compelling story of the cartoon series by using cell shading technology but also dramatic fighting scenes that will grip any gamer. It also features a variety of locations from the cartoon series, using them as destructible combat areas including Hong Kong Bay, The Dragon Dojo, and The Great Wall of China.
Legend of the Dragon is scheduled for release in Q2 2007. Check out the screenshots below for a taste of the game.
