Getting a Wii: Minus MP5’s, ski-masks…

WiiWiis are a royal pain to grab these days, if the blog’s sentiments are any clue. But for the guys with blistered feet and coarse throats (from all the asking), we have a Wii hunting tip you might enjoy.

And the best part is it does not involve drilling a hole in your local retailer’s wall. How does it work? Three letters: UPS.

Here’s the step-by-step explanation:

  1. Find out what time of day UPS delivers to your local retail stores.
  2. After finding out when, arrive at the designated store at least 30 minutes early.
  3. When you arrive, ask the store guys if a Wii shipment just arrived.
  4. Upon asking that question, you’ll probably be directed to a designated area to wait.
  5. While waiting: Pray the delivery guy didn’t swipe the console, and make sure to wear something suitable.

We can’t guarantee that this strategy will work all the time. On the plus side, it’s a relatively legal way of finding a Wii, and should give you a very early heads-up of probable drop zones. Good luck.
