The Godfather Final Hands-On Updates
With the mafia-inspired The Godfather looking good on the ps2“>ps2“>PS2 and the Xbox, we’re positive that the Electronic Arts‘ Xbox 360 version will be just as awesome when it hits the market on September 29. Greg Mueller reveals the final hands-on experience as something inundated with twists, more high-def graphics, and a challenging list of achievements.
New stuff that Mueller had pointed out include:
- Graphics – crisper textures, shinier surfaces, more clarity, and more lifelike facial animations. Character faces, although thug-ugly, show realistic bloods and bruises. The body animations don’t equal that level, but they move naturally. The cars and the 1940s New York itself have more variety and details into them. The execution moves are wholly new and the fighting system is eyecandy.
- Missions and Twists – With 25 missions, you got three of them as story missions while the rest are assassination missions and favors. Some of those favors can get pretty challenging, as you can’t extort money if you don’t do them. Another twist is your ability to recruit thugs and bribe the cops, which can also play the role of triggermen.
- Achievements – Some of the achievements in the list require you to perform intricate execution moves. Then, you can update your status on the Xbox Live online leaderboard and compare your stats to other online players.
Those said and done, all that’s left for us to do is to wait for the release of The Godfather in the United States later this month. Of course, we’ll always keep you updated on the latest here at QJ.
