The PlayStation’s coming: New York’s queue

As the PlayStation’s arrival moves ever closer to American shores, let us not forget the brave men and women who risk losing their jobs and the rest of their lives to Sony‘s next-generation hardware. Yes folks, we’re talking about the people who are standing in line for a shot at the PS3.

You might love them or hate them, and you might not know if they’re buying the PS3 to use or to hoard for future eBay use, but they’re all there, waiting in line. Worse still for those fellows who were paid to wait in line, because everyone hates them for trying to do something to buy food. Now that Japan’s launch woes are over, it’s time to focus on the American launch, which is also known to many retailers as an extra “Black Friday” for them to suffer the emotional battering that comes with irate parents and kids with no sense of patience.

We talked about Fox News‘ coverage of the Rockville, Maryland queue at Circuit City, complete with ridiculous reporting from inside a tent. Now, let’s take a look at New York’s Union Square, where a line is also up for the launch of the console in Circuit City. Pray for these souls, and lets hope a riot doesn’t happen over a console. Don’t forget to thank Donnymandible on YouTube for the upload as well.
