Miyamoto has reiterated that the main reason why the Wiimote became the choice for Ninty’s next-gen console is because of its miss congeniality qualities- it’s just so user-friendly. He says that he doesn’t “want something that would make people nervous about trying to use it at first glance. Rather, the goal was to make anyone who sees it want to try it out. He also mentions that he believes that one-hand controller controller is the right formula for breaking the existing conventions but not so much that it becomes so eccentric that other people find it weird and unapproachable. Will the formula work? The next-gen console wars are coming, and so are the answers.
