THQ Acquires Stuntman franchise
THQ have announced that they have acquired the Stuntman franchise from Atari. Stuntman was originally released for the PS2 in 2002, and has sold over 1.6 million units since then. Next-generation versions of Stuntman are currently in development by Paradigm Entertainment.
Kelly Flock, executive vice president of worldwide publishing, THQ, said: “The concept of pulling off the incredible driving feats of Hollywood stuntmen is a natural fit for action and racing game fans alike,” “Stuntman is a great complement to our growing stable of original content targeting the core gamer on next-generation systems.”
Additionally, the company announced that it has exercised its option to acquire Paradigm Entertainment and they expect to close the transaction in the coming weeks.
