Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground video editor trailer video

Tony Hawk‘s Proving Ground (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) has been touting its video editing feature as one of its biggest draws. Now, in this trailer video that talks specifically about the video editor, we get to find out what the hype is all about. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised – or blown off your feet, whichever comes first.

More than just a replay enhancer, the video editing tool in Tony Hawk’s latest skating title lets you take control of virtually everything about your video. Not only can you apply awesome effects such as borders, film grain distortion or slow motion to your video, you can actually control each and every angle that the video itself will be used. For instance, say you recorded a clip of yourself nailing that very tricky mid-air move. You can take control of the camera in that pre-recorded clip and move it to just about anywhere.

There’s also this neat little feature when editing in your own video to a soundtrack – if you correspond the effects of your video with the beats of your chosen soundtrack, you get more points for it. It’s a nice touch to appreciate those who would take the time to meticulously edit their clips and effects to jive with the tunes. Neversoft‘s outdone themselves this time, that’s for sure.
