Top 100 table debuts on Apple Music Classical

Apple Music Classical Top 100 now available on iPhone
Apple Music Classical curates a weekly top 100 chart, based on listening data from more than 165 different countries. Apple Music Classical has been available in iOS for 16 months. Since then, it has expanded its availability worldwide. It’s now launching a chart that uses data from those countries to compile a definitive top 100 list. Oliver Schusser is Apple’s vice-president of Apple Music and Beats. He said that Apple Music Classical was a big hit with classical music fans around the globe. The app is changing the world of classical music with the recent announcement of new partnerships and the launch of Apple Classical Top 100. The top 100 chart, which is updated every Monday, can be found on Apple Music Classical or Apple’s chart site. Apple claims that the chart is compiled using listening figures from over 165 different countries. Apple claims this is the most comprehensive and representative chart of its kind. The first chart is topped with “Bach Keyboard Concertos” by Chinese pianist Tianqi du and the Academy of St Martins in the Fields, conducted by Jonathan Bloxham. Du said, “I am deeply honored that my latest album is at the top of the Apple Classical 100 chart.” These concertos are a vibrant display of Bach’s spirit and energy, bursting with emotion richness and expressive profundity. “I am truly grateful for the fantastic platform Apple Music Classical offers,” continued Du. “It helps us musicians connect with classical fans worldwide.” Apple Music Classical is an app separate from Apple Music. Apple Music subscription is required. The company’s top 100 albums in rock and pop are followed by the new classical top 100. This list was not based on data, but rather a selection made by experts.
