Trio of B-Boy events coming to GameCity

B-Boy

Keen to make an impression, the up and coming game studio behind B-Boy for the PSP, FreeStyleGames will be holding a trio of B-Boy related events at the GameCity Annual Interactive Entertainment Festival. B-Boy first hit the streets this month, and with no demo or trailer released, the GameCity event will give gamers an opportunity to experience the game hands-on. So what exactly will you get to do there? Here’s the lowdown on the three B-Boy events you’ll find at GameCity:

  • Art of the Videogame – In support of the premiere of the ‘Into The Pixel’ exhibition heading the ‘Shpuld videogames be considered Art’ debate, Angel Row Gallery and CCAN are holding a discussion with some of the leading artists – including B-Boy concept artist Brian Dugan (aka Chippy) in the Angel Row Gallery, Thursday 26th at 1pm.
  • Be B-Boy – FreeStyleGames will be demonstrating how they captured a dazzlingly complex set of moves and converted them to a unique gaming experience that encapsulates the excitement, music, skill and art of being a b-boy. This will take place on Thursday 26th at 3 p.m. in The Cornerhouse; so if you’re interested in just how FreeStyle managed to get such a good range of tricks into the game, check this out.
  • I Wanna Be a B-Boy – Two workshops will be held in conjunction with a national dance agency – Dance 4. This will provide a unique opportunity to try your hand at the latest moves, freezes and be taught by the UK‘s leading b-boys and championship winners at FreeStyleGames, followed by a full-on b-boy battle. If you fancy your chances as a B-Boy get down to the Nottingham Arena on Friday 27th for 5 p.m.

FreeStyleGames have also said that releasing a CD with the Music from B-Boy on 30th October 2006. The GameCity Festival will feature many other exhibitions, acts and displays, so if you’re interested in the event which will be held in Nottingham, UK, take a trip to the official website for more info.
