U.S. VC update: Star Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, Drop Off
Here’s this week’s Virtual Console update for all of you Wii owners out there. As usual, there are three new games out for the Nintendo Wii video game console’s handy dandy VC.
- Star Soldier (NES, 500 Wii Points) – This one-player vertical scrolling shooter started the whole Soldier franchise. Players get behind the controls of the space fighter Caesar and blast their way through the floating space station inhabited by Starbrain, a giant computer with plans for galactic invasion.
- Dynamite Headdy (Sega Genesis, 800 Wii Points) – This one’s pretty weird. It features Headdy, a toy with a detachable head who goes up against the the evil puppet King Dark Demon. Along the way, Headdy will also get to contend with his archenemy Trouble Bruin the bear.
- Drop Off (TurboGrafx16, 600 Wii Points) – This week’s TurboGrafx16 title is an arcade puzzler called Drop Off. Players use arrow items and some deft ball maneuvering to obliterate the blocks that descend from the top of the screen. Bonus points can be earn by dropping more and more blocks.
All three of the above titles will go live today (if they haven’t already). Check the Wii Shop Channel to see if they’re already available for download in your area.
