Ubisoft’s Annual Earnings Increase Thanks to the Xbox 360

Ubisoft has put out its year-end earnings report. While the final quarter of the year didn’t hold up as well as the three before it, the overall year was positive for the French publisher. CEO Yves Guillemot attributed this fact to the company’s leadership position in the Xbox 360 section – more specifically, to the newest installment in the Ghost Recon franchise.

“The tremendous success of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter confirms our ability to be at the forefront on new consoles. It should support Ubisoft’s financial performance during the coming fiscal year.”

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter sold 1.6 million copies in total, about half of them for the Xbox 360. King Kong: The Official Game played a key role in securing the publisher’s success as well, selling an impressive 4.5 million copies.

The total reported revenue for the full year amounts to $685 million, which is a 3% gain compared to last year ($666 million). 46% percent of Ubisoft’s quarterly sales were Xbox 360 games.
