Video Clips of Resistance: Fall of Man

I have something to confess: I’m becoming one of those geeks that love RTS games and hate FPS games. I stopped playing FPS games after Half Life 2 because I felt that there was no other FPS that wasn’t really (when you think about it) another Half Life 2 or Doom clone. But when I saw these Resistance: Fall of Man video clips, I started to change my mind.

As you watch these videos, go down this handy checklist and see if Insomniac Games has kept their promises:

  • single player campaign of epic proportions
  • British accents (U.S. and Britain have banded together to save Europe and Asia from the Chimera, a species of unknown origin that has overrun much of the world)
  • fluidly moving characters with sophisticated behavior
  • the characters move within their environments and interact with their environments realistically
  • captures the chaos of warfare with immersive visual effects
  • captures the chaos of warfare with immersive sound effects (remember that the game calculates distances and echoes and muffled noises and all that for a realistic auditory experience)
  • high detail
  • exotic weapons and vehicles

Cool weapons. Messy explosions. And British accents. Now that’s a military game with promise!
