Video: Custom Firmware for the PS3?

We’ve been having more than our fill of rumors pertaining to Sony PS3 modchips, soft mods, and what-not, and a lot of us are beginning to wonder if there’s really any valid work being done to forward this cause. German dev team DC launched a shocker which shows us conceptual proof of what could be Custom Firmware for the PS3.

We’ve been having more than our fill of rumors pertaining to Sony PlayStation 3 modchips, soft mods and what not, and a lot of us are beginning to wonder if there’s really any valid work being done to forward this cause. A while ago, however, German coder team DC made some waves by announcing what could be a proof of Sony PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware concept. It was uploaded in video form and it’s right here.

The primary feature that everyone is buzzing about right now is an ISO loader for this PS3 Custom Firmware. DC says it will be there, and all of this is a product of tinkering with Dark_AleX’s original CFW for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Again, we remind everyone that this is still a project in its concept stage, and it remains to be seen whether it will make it out of the development pipeline. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and yours is as good as ours.

Update: We found a more compelling video of the PS3 Custom Firmware that German team DC is supposedly working on. A lot of commenters are going on about the validity of this CFW. We can only tell you to check out the video below for yourselves, and it’s up to you to decide if this video actually proves that a PS3 CFW is within reach.
