I’m actually pretty excited for Trash Panic‘s PSN release – whenever that’ll be. I mean, I’m not much of a treehugger myself, but the gameplay looks fun. The localized version is being produced by Josh Miller, and here he’s explaining the mechanics of the game:

A shame though that Miller didn’t elaborate more on the history of this game because it does in fact have quite an interesting one. As I explained before, Trash Panic has its roots in the Japanese game called Gomibaiko, released on PSN Asia last month.

The concept of this game came from the PlayStation C.A.M.P. workshop where a group of its participants presented their indie game. The organizers apparently found potential in their idea and gave it a go-signal to be released as a PSN title, and first introduced it during TGS 2008 where it became a finalist of the Sense of Wonder Night event.
