Wal-Mart employee Wii and PS3 training material?

PS3 training website. Supposedly, there is a website that’s Canadian Wal-Mart employees have been using (or will be using) to train themselves about the PS3. It’s the source link we have below. Hm, we’re not so sure it’s real, but it sure “looks” legitimate.

Wal-Mart documents on PS3 and Wii. And there have been some signs that it’s real. We did a bit of snooping through the net, and we found threnodythrenody’s flickr, and there were these documents for Wal-Mart employees. It’s strange that the bottom of the PS3 documents says “July 2006.” The images were uploaded to flickr on November 6.

Notice that at the bottom of the PS3 documents it says “www.ps3training.ca” – and that’s the URL of the site in question.

PS3 spec FAQ. Note the spec details in the PS3 FAQ image – some of them are amazing. The PS3’s Cell is “10 times as fast as Intel‘s most powerful Pentium and 35 times faster than the current PS2 chip.” Hm. If that’s true, that’s really spectacular, although it might have been only Sony’s goal or objective as of July 2006 – it does say “please note that specifications may change before launch date.”

Wii philosophy. The Wii one is mostly about gameplay philosophy and experience. There are a few specs at the bottom like the Virtual Console blurb (“downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles” originally released for N64, SNES, and even NES).

In related blog entries, Wal-Mart recently announced that it’s releasing the Wii at midnight of the 19th. As for the PS3, Kaz Hirai’s son will also have to line up, and if you don’t want to buy your PS3 at Wal-Mart, you can always try to win one.
