Artwork of a Dwarven fortress in Ekrund from Warhammer Online - Image 1Once again we bring to everyone up to speed another exciting chapter to the rich lore found in EA Mythic‘s Warhammer Onine: Age of Reckoning. This time we feature the rocky area of Ekrund, filled with Dwarves, Goblins, and Orcs (oh my!).

One of the most highly contentious regions in the Warhammer Online universe, the mountainous slopes of Ekrund present a dangerous land that is full of strife and hardships. Time and again Dwarves and greenskins have fought to establish a strategic foothold by gaining control of the region.

While the Dwarf forces were able to establish several outposts and storehouses in Ekrund, there’s been no end to attacks from the besieging Orc horde. Fortunately, the new workshop established by Grungni Rockcrusher gave the Dwarves considerable headway in the war by providing death-dealing organ guns, swift gyrocopters and thundering flame cannons for the Dwarf army.

However, greenskins aren’t the only problem the diminutive race has to contend with. Strip mining operations have scarred the land itself and have collapsed several Dwarven fortifications containing much of their precious resources. There’s even been news of a mutated Goblin roaming the mountains, plotting the demise of both Dwarf and Orc alike.

You can experience all the interesting sights of the Ekrund region when Warhammer Online goes live later this Fall. In the meantime, stay tuned to this space for more updates on this fantasy MMO title from EA Mythic.
