With WiiWare coming along very, very soon, you might want to consider freeing up some space on your Wii’s internal memory. Here are two new Wii homebrew programs from waninkoko that might help you out: the SaveGame Extractor and Savegame Installer.
Waninkoko is the author of several other Wii homebrews like the Wii NAND Dumper and the Duplicated Channel Remover. These latest programs – the SaveGame Extractor and Installer – allow you to move Save files back and forth from your Wii to an SD Card.
As the titles suggest, these two programs work in tandem with one another. The extractor copies the Wii save game to the SD card, while the Installer does the opposite. Here are the instructions on using the program from waninkoko:
SaveGame Extractor:
- Execute this application.
- Insert the game DVD and press RESET or A button
SaveGame Installer:
- Copy the savegame you want to install to the SD card (directory “wiisaves/<game id>”, just keep the directory structure created by the “Savegame Extractor”).
- Execute this application.
- Insert the game DVD and press RESET or A button
Be sure to browse through the readme before using the files. You may also want to check out waninkoko’s previous homebrew by following this link.
