Wii OS v1.0 Alpha released
We’ve heard of BigJohn8411 and his “Wii OS” project the other day, and guess what? Eventually, after much deliberation, he’s finally released a public version. As a recap of the post from the other day, this application of his is a GUI for his PC that he’s made to look just like the Wii Channels Menu. It allows him to launch some emulated games from yester-decade, but that’s beside the point here.
What has really got people eyeing this interface theme is all the Nintendo loving put into it. The interface looks just like that of the Wii, plus it has a couple of other features (like a music player). If you love your Wii so much so that you. just. HAVE. to transform your PC into looking like its interface, then by all means, continue reading on.
BigJohn8411 does admit that all the menu music and sound effects come from Nintendo. We do have to remind you that this project was just a “for-fun” project that he did because he didn’t have a Wii and decided to remake the interface on his computer. All important information such as legal disclaimers, code development notes, and instructions are included in the readme file – make sure you do read it.
Here’s a new demo to see the theme in action (there’s another one behind the “Full Article” link below):
