Wii woos Australian press in Sydney preview
Wii is starting to gear up for its Australian debut this December and to start things off on the right foot, Nintendo officials decided that it would be a good idea to woo and charm the local press as early as now.
Just last week, a nightspot in Sydney was reserved for a get-together and a chance for publishers and reporters to get up close and personal with the Wii, an opportunity that was warmly accepted by the invited guests.
In the said occasion, games such as Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, and Super Mario Galaxywere put up for demos, and everyone seemed eager to have a go with the Wiimote, especially the ladies. It has been noted that the females in the industry don’t normally go to such events, but it was a different story when Nintendo issued the call. They were apparently in full force and full swing at the event and actively participated in the demos.
An announcement was also made at the event, saying that around 10 Virtual Console games will be released in Australia monthly, and each will cost around AU$ 7 to 15. These games can be purchased using either Wii Points or 2000 point cards, which will perhaps cost AU$ 30 each.
As for the rest of the Australian populace who wants to try out the Wii? Their chance will come once the eGames & Entertainment Expo opens this November.
