WiiCade: Flash games brewing for the Wii

WiiCade

So, you thought that you’d only have 20 games to play come launch tomorrow? And to think, all those coins in your piggy bank just might not even be enough to buy all of those games you want. Don’t worry. Serving itself fresh on the scene to coincide the launch, here’s what could possibly the first of the homebrew efforts that we’re going to be seeing.

The WiiCade website is going to offer Flash games that can be played on the Wii through the Opera browser. You can even upload your own games, if you want to give your programming skills a shot. When the console launches, the team composed of Aaron Worall, David Stubbs, and John Eysman should have about 15 games up on the site.

With the Wiimote and Nunchuck as controllers, this could pose a very interesting homebrew scene. Imagine playing Insaniquarium or Zuma with a Wiimote. This will be one heck of a challenge for everyone!

Homebrew is love. Wiimote is love. Wii is love. And WiiCade just tied all of those together.
