It’s safe to say development of the Linux operating system’s port to the Nintendo Wii by Albert “isobel” Herranz and his crew is proceeding smoothly. The latest version of the Wii-Linux Proof of Concept is sure to make many homebrew enthusiasts happy, as it introduces a feature some users have been clamoring for upon reaching version 0.4.
Wii-Linux PoC version 0.4 now supports USB keyboards, which takes its usefulness up a notch. Here’s what developers had to say:
Another baby step has been taken to bring Linux on the Wii to a more useable form. This time we have added support for USB keyboards through the IOS keyboard interface available since IOS version 30.
