Will Assassin’s Creed still be a trilogy?
Ubisoft has been quite vocal about where they’re taking the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We know Assassin’s Creed 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) will have quite an ending, and it’s no secret that the games are all part of a trilogy. That’s the thing though – Yannis Mallat could be teasing that there might not be an ending to Desmond’s story.

That’s the thing though – Yannis Mallat could be teasing that there might not be an ending to Desmond’s story.
Speaking to CVG, the Ubisoft Montreal studio head revealed that the crucial moments in the Assassin’s Creed saga have already been plotted out. They’ve now set how it will all go from here, and how it’s all going to end – except Mallat teasingly went, “Who talked about an ending?” when asked about the end to Desmond Miles’ story.
Of course, Mallat could be talking about spinoffs and releases like the ones we’ve seen on the DS and the iPhone. Assassin’s Creed may still go on as a trilogy, but they would still be able to add up to the main plot via other titles. “We know how to keep our secrets,” Mallat said. ““Think about it, Assassin’s Creed as a brand is definitely oriented towards reliving pivotal moments in history. So along that path we may revisit some interesting moments.”
