Will Wright is a Nintendo Junkie

Will Wright and a Sims characterIn a recent GameSpy interview, Will Wright – creator of Sims and Spore – expresses his joy for Nintendo. It has already been revealed in the past that Wright was a fan, but in this recent talk he compares Nintendo to other big-name companies in the market.

GameSpy: IÂ’ve got to ask, how do you think Sony will do with that $600 price point?

WW: Six hundred bucks; that is a lot of money. IÂ’m rooting for Nintendo. What I donÂ’t like is that the way the Wii controller works depends a lot on how close you are to your TV. If you are five feet away it feels one way. If you are 10 feet away, it feels completely different.

Does this mean that Wright will eventually release some Nintendo-exclusive games or take advantage of the innovative features offered by the company? Another possibility is that special Nintendo-only featurescould be offered for games released on all consoles. Even though Spore is going to be on almost all forms of gaming media, Wiimote features could be implemented onto the Nintendo version.

Wright’s great ideas could easily find a home on Nintendo systems, and it is something to look forward to.
