Wing Island: Pilotwings Flies Again!
This December, prepare to take to the skies once again as Hudson‘s Wing Island flies to the Nintendo Wii. It’s the third installment of the Pilotwings franchise that started in 1990. This time, with the help of the Wii remote control, the game could be one of the top flight simulators of the year.
As was seen during the last article, the Wii controller represents the plane itself. Remember, as a child, how we tilt and spin objects around pretending we’re flying a real plane? Well, now you get to do it all over again and actually see the in-game biplane do all sort of neat tricks. Tilt up, the plane goes to the stratosphere; tilt down, and you got a nose dive going on. Twist it left or right, you’ll experience barrel rolls.
Lead your squad to victory. You won’t be doing this alone as you’ll be in charge of an aircraft squadron. Flicking your wrists will make your squad do special actions. You and your squad will be going on missions that need a lot of teamwork.

Missions all over the world. Accomplishing them are important because that’s how you’ll “conquer” an island. For example, there are various missions ranging from the hilariously mundane to the most frustratingly hard. Examples are popping balloons, finding a missing cow in a large island, dropping cargo, putting out fires in a Titanic-like ship, and more.
Other great features include a multiplayer support system where you can work with or against each other in missions; unlockable planes; and more missions than you can shake a Wii nunchuck at. Check out the screens below while we wait for more info on the game, which will be released December of this year.
