World of Warcraft: your version of the 5-man roster

World of Warcraft - Different groups have their different raid styles - Image 1 While not as great or as rewarding as the Epic raids (that’s if you actually succeed in them), the 5-man dungeon raids are a great way to hone your training skills and rack them up alongside your raid group’s full raid potential. It’s nice to be able to compare your abilities with others, while being able to advertise what you can do best.

But for any group to avoid a wipe, you’d usually have one tank, one healer, and three DPSers. For some certain 5-man pulls, you’d have a character arrangement to allow World of Warcraft‘s hybrids to accept dual roles.

But exactly, what is your favorite role in a raid group and what does your favorite 5-man roster compose of? WoW Insider’s blogger Paul Sherrard fancies this arrangement:

  • Tank: Paladin
  • Healer: Paladin
  • DPS: Mage
  • DPS: Enhancement Shaman
  • DPS: Elemental Shaman

Looks familiar doesn’t it? Death & Taxes does something similar to that, too, turning the guild roles upside down. But there is no limit to what the different builds, player strategies, and roles that each member can achieve, so stereotyping classes for certain roles no longer applies. So how about it: what’s your favorite 5-man group?
