WoW: The Burning Crusade takes the cake on 2007 top 10 PC games
Just how many sales records has Blizzard’s The Burning Crusade broken? Well, it’s no surprise that the World of Warcraft expansion has secured the top spot in the NPD Group’s top 10 bestselling PC video games list. See the full article for more info.
This may not come as any surprise: Blizzard’s MMORPG, World of Warcraft, has taken the top spot in the recent data from the NPD Group, showcasing last year’s bestselling PC video games in the US. Alongside WoW and its expansion, The Burning Crusade, stands numerous iterations of The Sims franchise (which isn’t a surprise either).
It’s the same story as last year, World of Warcraft took the top spot while The Sims iterations took the most of the slots, and a smattering of other titles tool the rest. In comparison to the numbers from last year (US$ 970 million), this year’s US$ 910.7 million looks a little pale. Anyway, here’s the rundown (numbers don’t include digital downloads):
- World Of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (Vivendi) – 2.25 million
- World Of Warcraft (Vivendi) – 914,000
- The Sims 2: Seasons Expansion Pack (Electronic Arts) – 433,000
- Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) – 383,000
- Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (Electronic Arts) – 343,000
- Sim City 4 Deluxe (Electronic Arts) – 284,000
- The Sims 2 (Electronic Arts) – 281,000
- The Sims 2: Bon Voyage Expansion Pack (Electronic Arts) – 271,000
- Age Of Empires III (Microsoft) – 259,000
- The Sims 2: Pets Expansion Pack (Electronic Arts) – 236,000
