WoW’s Xzin:The one-man firing squad
Gundam otaku fans will remember Amuro Rei and his trademark Nu Gundam, its fin funnels attacking in unison at his slightest thought. Except, you’re probably wondering what this newtype has to do with the World of Warcraft…and ftw what are fin funnels?!
Enter the Zins of the Magtheridon-U.S. server. For the guys who’ve had the (mis)fortune or running into this team in WoW‘s PvP system, there’s always the lasting image of four undead mages and one undead priest nuking their character into charcoal. And with this image, questions arise, usually about how the group coordinates itself so well, or who are the faces behind these characters.
The answer is simple and surprising: Only one guy controls all five, with each character contained to their own account and PC. Xzin (the player in question) coordinates all five characters – Xzin, Azin, Bzin, Czin and Dzin – via a customized wireless keyboard set. And while there’s been a good deal of controversy among some players over his setup, you still have to admit: A guy manning five separate characters rings of inherent newtype abilities. Did we mention all five are Rank 13?
With these questions in mind, we tell you of the interview that takes place between Xzin and the guys of WoW insider, who talk to this man about how he got the whole thing started, and how he’s been reacting to the attention he’s been building up with his setup.
