Xbox 360 for a Slice of Pi

Did you hear about 15 year-old Gaurav Rajav from Salem, VA who recited 8, 784 digits of Pi (the mathematical Pi, not the one found in pasty shops) from memory? His Dad said he would get him an Xbox 360 if he sets the new North American record of 10, 790 digits. Because Gaurav was short by 2006 digits, Mr Rajav said the whiz kid could have his console sans games. Remarkably, Gaurav said “No thanks, Dad, I don’t deserve it.” Don’t deserve it? Kid, it would have been easier to mow 8,784 lawns! Anyway, he wants to try his mathematical memory again this May. Something tells us he wants the record more than the 360.
