Xbox 360 upgrades for Microsoft to consider

The past few days have been spent on arguing whether the alleged 100GB X360 hard drive is fake or not. Of course, it is always good to have healthy discussions and open conversations rather than ponder about it on your lonesome. The totally missed point here, however, is that an update to the beloved console is coming, regardless of the date.

Besides, it is even the logical move for Microsoft now that the Wii and PS3 are coming. Maybe the real and more pressing question here is, what upgrades would those be. We were kind of thinking what would happen if Microsoft combines the prospective external HD DVD drive with the 100GB HDD into just one console without raising the price? We know it sounds cool, kickass and all but knowing Microsoft… Oh well.

Anyway, here’s a short list of other wanted/needed/probable/what-have-yous upgrades to the Xbox 360, straight from the guys over at Gizmodo. What do you guys think? Also, please feel free to add anything you think we might have left out.

• Expanded codec playback
• HDMI output
• Improved Xbox Live Marketplace
• X360 customization. Face plates don’t count. Somewhere deeper, somewhere within the hardware and software. Hmm?
• Quieter system that won’t overheat. Think watching HD DVD
• Internet Protocol Television
