Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior: Keeping it real in the land of showbiz – negative press is still press
Microsoft was certainly pushed up the wall this past week as Sony took over the spotlight at GamesCom in Cologne. We gotta give props where credit is rightfully due, and that props I personally have to give to Sony. Microsoft’s presscon just wasn’t as “oomph”-ish as it should have been. Their “biggest” announcement: Fable III; their biggest newsmaker: the 54% failure rate. All in all, it wasn’t a very good strategy/ PR week for Microsoft.

Their “biggest” announcement: Fable III — which has been sneaking in and out of Twitterdom the past several months already, actually. All in all, it wasn’t a very good strategy/ PR week for Microsoft, add to that the recently unveiled failure rate survey in which the Xbox 360 reigned supreme yet again.
But despite that, it still was a pretty darned good week for the Xbox 360 blog, regardless if the bits be negative. After all, bad publicity is still publicity. That’s how showbiz rolls. Still, we’re hoping for a better line-up next week.
