Xbox Live ratings reveals Gears of War on top

Xbox Live Ratings - Image 1Straight from Major Nelson, the Xbox Live activity ratings have been retrieved, counted, and ranked for the week ending February 19, 2007. Please be reminded that these ratings cover Xbox Live in a global scale and that they span over both the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox.

Games have been ranked up to the top tens, including those full versions released on Xbox Live Arcade.

For the Xbox 360 category, the summit ends at Gears of War‘s feet. Being a best-seller for Epic Games and Microsoft, the Unreal 3 engine, EA-claims-“zero innovation strategy” game is still riding its own popularity wave. Coming up right behind it is Ubisoft‘s Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, followed by the release version of RealTime World’s Crackdown. Missing the third spot, Electronic Arts’ Call of Duty 3 settles for the entry seat to the top three.

For Arcade, we’ve got Paperboy and family card game UNO ranked in that order, with Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 trailing behind. The Xbox’s Top Live Games include Halo 2 (multiplayer most definitely) at the top seat, DICE and EA’s Battlefield 2: Modern Combat at second and Madden NFL 07 holding on to third.

Major Nelson also points out that if the ratings from both the Xbox and Xbox 360 Top titles were combined, Gears of Wars would still reign supreme.
