XFPS: good, but X360 games not made for keyboards
People have been testing the device for some time now, and it’s only timely that reviews for the thing should be out. Joystiq’s Xbox Fanboy has one up on the XFPS. Their verdict? Well, according to them the device is just not quite ready for prime-time usage.
If you want to enjoy FPS games as they were on the PC, sure, the XFPS would do; the thing is, 360 games aren’t just designed for the device. They tested the game on Gears of War, Halo, and Rainbow Six: Vegas, and they note that it was almost impossible to aim properly.
It just felt awkward and it was in no way superior to a game pad. There are just some functions that the keyboard can’t handle. For example there is no analog support in keyboards, you can figure out the possible gameplay foul-ups because of that.
It’s not all bad though, as they do note that the device is an excellent Dual Shock adapter.
