Alan Wake: More Info and Screenshots

The buzz on Alan Wake for the Xbox 360 and PC has died down after not hearing much about him in the past weeks. Sure, we’ve had our dose of screenshots and a single trailer, but we really don’t have much info on storyline or gameplay, except its similarity to Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Without much fanfare, more info on the psychological action thriller has been revealed.

Alan Wake is a horror writer inspired by his fiancee, but when she disappears, Wake’s writing ability vanished. With the heartbreaking turn of events, Wake became an insomniac. He then checks into a sleep-health clinic outside Pride Falls, a small town in Washington State. In the clinic, his insomnia was cured. Though it would be a great ending to the sleep-deprived Wake, the story doesn’t end there. Wake meets the the doppelganger of his missing fiancee. This is where dark twisted dreams start to show up in the real world. From distorted creatures to cowled humans that only Wake can see. The question is, has he gone mad?

Created by Remedy Entertainment, the game features a free-roaming, open environment that allows the gamer to explore the idyllic small town of Pride Falls. The game has the potential to be a sleeper hit with its dark and mysterious Stephen King-style plot. It’s scheduled to be released this June.
