Announcing: An iR Shell skinning contest

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, and lately, even Ahman’s iR Shell. F34R of the iR Shell forums dropped us a line earlier announcing the start of their iR Shell skinning contest. This competition challenge contenders to come up with their own custom skins for the said application. Here’s a rundown of some of the competition details (quoting F34R’s post):

  • irShell v3.62 - Image 1Rules:
    • All “skinners” must be registered users of iR Shell.org.
    • All skins must be the artists own work.
      • renders, pics, etc. can be used, but must have been “compiled” by the submitter. i.e. I wouldn’t enter a skin that matriculated had made.
    • All skins must be submitted to F34R via PM with a private upload link.
      • megaupload, rapidshare, etc.
    • Skins that have been previously released are not eligible.
    • Previews are not to be posted. This will be handled by the judging committee.
    • All skins submitted must be compatible with the latest public build of iR Shell.
    • I reserve the right to remove anyone from this contest at my discretion.
    • I reserve the right to refuse any entry at my discretion.
    • You must be 18 years of age, or have permission to enter from either a parent or guardian. By entering into the contest you acknowledge that you meet one of these requirements.
    • I reserve the right to change these rules, prizes, or any other portion of this contest prior to the deadline.
    • Shipping will be worldwide.
    • Initial Shipping and Handling will be free. Any extra shipping taxes, import fees, duties, or any other fees not calculated from the initial shipment, will be the responsibility of the winner to pay. Insurance is also optional, and will be the winners responsibility to pay for. See notes below. If the package is returned for whatever reason, the prize is forfeited.

Deadlines for submissions are on October 10. F34R also notes that this is the forum’s very first such competition, and that many more are expected in the near future.
