Some of the folks from Atlus were recently interviewed about their upcoming Nintendo Wii dungeon-dweller Baroque. They also talked about their studio’s future, including their plans for game releases on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3.

Baroque was originally intended for release on first PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. The guys down at Atlus explain that the gameplay remains “relatively unchanged” when they translated it for the Wii and the PS2.

This doesn’t mean that the game won’t be offering anything new to the gaming scene though. The game’s never been released in America, so gamers will still have a fresh experience with the game.

Aside from improvements done on the graphics and sound, Baroque will also have new exclusive content. The introduction of the Baroquemonger character for instance, and an improvement to the save system which was made more player-friendly.

At the latter part of the interview, they talked about the studio’s future plans and whether or not they’ll be exploring other platforms. Atlus already has two games lined up for the Xbox 360, Operation: Darkness and Spectral Force 3.

According to them, they have some more games lined up for the 360. As for the PlayStation 3, we may have to wait a while longer:

Clayton Chan (editor): As you can see from our long history, we really don’t have a console preference. We basically just had to wait until there were enough Japanese developed titles on the 360, because most of them were snapped up by a US publisher pretty quickly.

Bill Alexander (production designer):We would love to add a PS3 game to our portfolio. […] As excited as we are about publishing for the system, we wouldn’t want to rush things; we’ll wait for a good title to become available for licensing-a game worthy of the Atlus brand and our intense localization efforts.
